Oreo Truffles
Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 3:40PM This could be the single most important post during my Great American Bake Sale campaign--the secret to Mary's Oreo truffles. Mary will be making around 300 of these decadent treats for the bake sale at The Butcher and Larder on May 7th.
- 1 package Oreos (preferably Double Stuf)
- 1 8oz package of cream cheese (block or the round container)
- 1 tsp of vanilla
- 1 package of chocolate almond bark
- optional: vanilla almond bark
Begin by obliterating the Oreos in a food processor. Then add the cream cheese and vanilla, and process more. Once the mixture is properly blended, cool in the fridge for easier handling. After the mixture is chilled, roll into balls on a lined sheet tray, then chill for another 30 minutes.
Next, use two forks to dip the balls in melted chocolate almond bark, then chill again. Finally, garnish the truffles with a drizzle of melted vanilla almond bark (or not).
