Heads Will Roll
Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00AM Seducing someone with home-cooked food is a brilliant idea. It's inexpensive, intimate, and there's no worry for reservations. Unfortunately, it brings up the question that readers ask me most, "What should I make?" My first few ideas are always shot down, usually because of protein or time related issues. I cook a lot of pork, which many people can't consume due to lifestyle choices. This predicament inspired me to devise the perfect, intimate (and unforgettable) meal for two.
Simply put, everyone enjoys good head. This is how I find myself at a local Halal butcher staring an upside-down hanging lamb in the eye. I realize that once killed and skinned, a lamb loses its cuteness. The butcher brings me back to reality by inquiring about any desires for the blood, which I have none of [this time]. Four dollars later, I walk out with a head in a bag, my future roasted centerpiece.
